Doing a little bit of performance engineering.
This
was a good overview of architecture and general ideas on what to do
for Sm_80 platforms. I think
this
was also good, but was a lot of the same stuff. Good diagrams though.
Also, they don't talk about morton swizzling and how XOR swizzling actually works.
I need to read about
EVTs
and this paper before I forget
and dawdle on doing other silly stuff. One day I also need to get to the double bubble
pipeline parallelism paper from Deepseek and figure out the backward pass of flash attention.
I also need to try my hand at writing Pallas code. Please also remind me to ask Vijay
about the algebraic transformations only requiring a left inverse for CuTe; that was really cool!
